Should the jewelry industry now promote Vague Assurance rings for those not ready for a promise ring?

Question by Bill: Really should the jewelry industry now advertise Vague Assurance rings for people not prepared for a promise ring?
Marriage ceremony rings are for keeps (hopefully), engagement rings are "we're about to go into this for retains," guarantee rings are "I guarantee to one day consult you to go into this for keeps," but there are nonetheless babes without an adornment to signify their guy's really like (or whatever he's feeling).

Really should we now introduce a Vague Assurance ring, for the "okay, a single day we may get married" crowd?

Diamonds are permanently, but it's possible gold and CZ will quiet her down for a bit.

Ideas?
