Q&A: Can anyone offer some advice on saving money on my outdoor wedding this autumn?

Question by Kristen: Can anyone offer some guidance on saving income on my out of doors marriage ceremony this autumn?
My fiance and I are preparing on getting married this autumn, both September or October, in an outside venue close to exactly where we stay. Hues are tangerine and ivory. We are going to have close to fifty guests. The venue itself is only $ ten! However, we will will need to lease tents, tables, and chairs. I am hunting for some cash saving tips from brides who have been in my predicament prior to. We are paying for every thing ourselves, so I need some guidelines for saving funds on foods, flowers, favors, and so on.

Here are the actions we have taken so far:

1.) Do-it-yourself Invitation Kit from Michael's: 30-count, with the invitations, response cards, envelopes, and fairly considerably anything else you will need for about $ thirty, so only about $ 60 for all our invitations.

2.) Skipping Out on the Pricey Caterer: Given that we are from a rural region and we are performing the wedding ceremony outdoors with only about fifty friends, we are catering the wedding ceremony ourselves. We are going to grill steak, and chicken and it's possible shrimp and have baked potatoes, corn-on-the-cob, vegetable kabobs, and salad. We're performing the classic marriage ceremony cake, as well as "cake balls" and brownies (mint brownies, peanut butter cup brownies, walnut brownies, and many others.). We are also not serving alcohol. He does not drink, I will nevertheless only be 20, and most of our family members will be drunken rednecks if served no cost alcohol! We will be serving canned sodas and bottled water.

three.) Small Wedding Get together: We only have a handful of close close friends, so we are only going to have 1 on my side and a single on his.

4.) Less Formal Attire: I will be sporting a short gown and he will be in black slacks or khakis and a dress shirt and tie. Neither of us really like to gown up and I would loathe for us to glimpse uncomfortable on our specific day!

five.) A lot more Inexpensive Rings: My ring will be cubic zirconia and sterling silver. I know it will not hold up for long, but the diamond rings I adore are way out of our price range, and we can usually get on later on in lifestyle when we're a lot more monetarily stable. He will almost certainly have a carbon fiber ring.

6.) Do it yourself Floral: I just want a easy, hand-tied bouquet. We're carrying out gerbera daisies for the bouquet and centerpieces with gerbera daisies in mason/ball jars.

Some things I am even now pondering:

We were considering of it's possible skipping on the tent and on ceremony chairs? That $ 400 could be much far better put in on some other element, if you inquire me. We will only have about 40 visitors, so possibly six round tables, and we had been contemplating that we could just organize the tables in such a way that the friends could sit at them for the duration of the ceremony themselves. We are not going to have dancing, anyway. Any ideas?

Thank you so considerably, men!
Some facts I perhaps left out:

Absence of Tent/ Situation of Weather conditions: Our out of doors venue is quite significantly a park in the middle of nowhere, and there is a church only a quarter mile away from it. An additional few I know who married there moved the wedding to the church very last moment when they saw rain on the forecast, no difficulty. We're hoping that we would be capable to do the same.

Marriage ceremony cake: i was preparing on only finding a tiny cake for us to cut for ceremonial purposes and then serving other desserts but THEN my step-mom's mother offered to bake us a single! I've noticed her work and they're tremendous easy but stylish and fairly (: We're arranging on getting just a plain white a single and wrapping orange ribbon close to the tiers and putting clean daisies on it, as well. Overkill on the daisies? Haha.
Eh, marriage ceremony postponed considering that we equally made the decision to go again to school, but nonetheless organizing!. -Sigh- Many thanks for all the useful recommendations! :)

It seems like you have a lot figured out currently! Can you see if you can borrow some tables and chairs from churches and basically give a little donation? Also, I knew a bride who tied her own bouquet (along with the bridesmaids). She saved funds but also explained that 'it virtually wasn't worth it.' You could also do the centerpieces by yourself (even throwing in some silk flowers-craft merchants have fantastic revenue all the time!). Some flower shops will even give savings on specified days or after a particular time on their loose flowers. You could even chat to some locations about leftover loose flowers at a discounted price. Even verify out grocery retailers, they have attractive bouquets at times. If you're going for a classic wedding cake, only have the prime (for you men to minimize and preserve) genuine and the rest of it fake. Retain a sheet cake concealed and no person will know the variation!
