How do I upgrade my wife's wedding ring without her catching on?

Question by Evan's Dad. 6-3-09: How do I upgrade my wife's wedding ceremony ring with no her catching on?
I would require her original ring in order to do the trade in at Kay...At times she forgets it on the counter when she normally requires it off to shower...ought to I just snag it then? Also, which ring do you like better?
