why are tungsten carbide rings $30-$50 vs. $300-$700 at jewelers?

Question by Will: why are tungsten carbide rings - vs. - at jewelers?
I was browsing by way of engagement rings with the GF and I was looking at the mens wedding bands at a jeweler in the mall and I truly liked the tungsten carbide rings they had for sale which had been going for 300 to 700 bucks.

I go on ebay and I find the same styles of rings for 30 to 50 bucks. I would recognize a 50 to 75 bucks cheaper on-line vs stores, but Hundreds of bucks cheaper, what gives? are they fake, not properly manufactured?
If everyone has any input on this, let me know.

They may possibly be fake- there are a whole lot of scammers on internet sites like ebay. or the seller may well have them in bulk which they can then offer for a less costly cost. Then once more, it may well be stolen merchandise. Fairly stick to a jeweller.
