What do you think of a "used" engagement ring?

Query by Ann T: What do you believe of a "used" engagement ring?
My boyfriend and I are seeking for an engagement ring. I genuinely don't believe we want to devote a good deal of cash on it, but he wants some thing good and "real" as in no CZ or guy-created jewels.
We are hunting at very good jewelry in section retailers and spots with income.
He will not hardly even consider a "second-hand" ring from Craigslist, newspaper advertisements, antique outlets or anything at all like that. I think that you can get a genuinely great offer and that there is no reason to invest hundreds or countless numbers far more just for some thing "new"
We would be extremely cautious before we seriously deemed any specific ring and have it checked out by a jeweler.
I realize that he does not like the notion of an unwanted ring from a divorced couple or broken engagement but I really don't think that we really should allow the bad feelings of the earlier entrepreneurs influence us

What do you think of "used" rings?
Would you take into account a 2nd-hand ring for your marriage ceremony ring?

My marriage ceremony rings are really essential to me and I do not want to feel like I'm "cheaping out"

For me personally, I wouldn't mind a employed ring if it was from my grandmother. Possibly I am a minor superstitious, but I do not want to put on the ring from someone else's failed marriage. Everyone else in our families (his mother, my mom) has been divorced and I wouldn't want both of their rings. I undoubtedly wouldn't want a Craigslist or Pawn Store ring. But that's just me.
