How would I go about selling a diamond ring to a jeweler?

Question by John..: How would I go about offering a diamond ring to a jeweler?
I have a diamond marriage ceremony ring that I want to sell, I know that I can send it to kay but they will only spend for the gold, it has eight tiny diamonds in it also, that I would also like to be paid for. Can I take it to the regional kay retailer and they will buy it? (paying me for the gold AND diamonds?) I know that I will consider a big reduction on it, and that is good.. but I'd like to be compensated for the diamonds also.

If this can be completed, how do I do it?

I've marketed one particular piece of jewellery prior to. My very best advice is to search for all your regional jewelers and pawn stores. Go to each 1 and request what they would provide you for your ring. Ebay is also a viable selection if you are inclined to get your jewelry licensed/appraised. You will make much more money selling it to an person than a jeweler, but it will take much more work.
