How do you ask your husband to upgrade your wedding ring?

Question by Dani: How do you ask your husband to upgrade your wedding ceremony ring?
I've been married for seven a long time now and my wedding ring has been a problem. It was actually my engagement ring, but getting tight on money I informed my husband just to put it back on my finger at our wedding. At the time he went for amount vs. good quality and purchased a one carat ring on Ebay. The stone is very dark with a lot of flaws and due to the fact it's a princess minimize solitaire, it will get caught on every little thing and scratches my son's encounter if he happens to be in the incorrect place at the incorrect time. Honestly the only issue I like about the ring at this level is the simple fact that he picked it out and gave it to me. My husband is now on an anti-diamond kick because of the violence and controversy that surrounds them, and I would enjoy to trade my ring in for a Signity CZ, which we can get for $ a hundred and fifty-$ 300. I've tried skirting around the edges, hinting just a bit, but it resulted in him asking "Is my ring not excellent adequate for you?" Anybody have any ideas on how to do this with out crushing his feelings?

Just let him know that you have cherished your ring for 7 a long time but, given that you each now know about all of the controversial things that surround them and that it has grow to be type of impractical (scratching your son, getting caught on things, and so on.) that you think it might be far better to downgrade to the CZ. I'm not positive that it's a very good concept to request at all, but if you are going to, something like that may be the only way.
